A special parade for the St. Patrick’s Day pre-celebration was started at Bloor and St. George today in downtown, Toronto. According to the organization team, there are 500,000 people line the parade route each year. St. Patrick’s Day (or the Feast of Saint Patrick) is a special Irish cultural and religious festival that remembers Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. In the light of the tradition, Patrick returned to Ireland and spent many years to change the heathen Irish to Christianity. Nowadays, St Patrick’s Day celebrations have been greatly influenced by those that developed among the Irish diaspora, especially in North America.
