It was all about Kpop! Fans from various cities were celebrating and participated in Toronto Kpop Con, the biggest Korean pop cultural event at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in the last Victoria’s long weekend. It was the second time that Pop Goes The World had brought this tremendous annual event to the city of Toronto. Unlike last year, this year’s event was being held for three consecutive days. The organizer had invited not only one, not two, but four Kpop music groups to this megacity at one time! Kpop fans screamed out and cheered for their favorite groups: VIXX, GFriend, Got7 and Day6.
Instead of a concert, the four Kpop groups were seeing the fans separately in a “Fanmeet” at a different date and time. The fans were able to see dance and singing performances, interviews and interact with the groups by playing different games on the stage. Besides, each kpop group celebrated the birthday boy or girl of the day on the stage. After the show, some fans were taking photos with their favorite group at the photo op.
On the other side, kpop fans may visit different workshops, panels, game rooms, screenings and vendor’s booth at the venue and purchase products such as Kpop music albums, poster, make-up, toys and many other Kpop related products. Also, the Canada Dream Stage showcased 18 different Kpop dance groups from Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Vancouver.
