Harbourfront Centre is thrilled to announce its summer lineup, where weekends start on Wednesdays. Every weekend this summer includes a lakeside film screening, an outdoor concert in the Toronto Music Garden, Dancing on the Pier, as well as a festival all weekend long. From The Cowboy Junkies to Astrid Hadad, Jah9 to Great Lake Swimmers, we invite you to engage with talent and culture from across the globe. We bring you music, dance, crafts, visual arts, workshops and more – most of which are free!
The 2016 summer season offers new festivals along with old favourites and weekly events that will showcase more than 1000 local and international artists, 11 films, and over 40 concerts. Highlights include the celebration of Canada’s 149th birthday, featuring Toronto’s largest fireworks display choreographed to an all-Canadian soundtrack, free concerts on Toronto’s picturesque waterfront, and the return of the ever-popular Beats, Breaks & Culture festival – a weekend of contemporary hip-hop and electronic music.
“Harbourfront Centre comes alive in the summer – both outside and inside,” shares Marah Braye, CEO of Harbourfront Centre. “With the best outdoor concert stage in the city, located on Toronto’s beautiful waterfront, and great music by artists from around the globe, there is something special for everyone. Please join us as we kick off the weekend every Wednesday.”
